Myrddin’s Quoit (Dolaumeinion)

Neolithic Burial Mound at Dolaumeinion

The stones of Dolaumeinion, the Meadow of Stones, are the Neolithic burial mound known as Myrddin’s Quoit. Cross the stile at the end of the lane and you can see the uprights of the eroded mound poking out of the grass, complete with an interpretative board erected by the local Archaeological Trust. This whole area is dotted with burial mounds, standing stones and ruined churches. As well as the ones on our route, the burial mound at Twlc y Filiast and the ruined church at Llanybri are worth visiting, as are the church, castle and well at Llanstephan
